Who We Are
The Writing Resource Center is located
in Clark 201. We offer writing assistance to all students,
faculty, and staff, either by appointment or on a walk-in basis during
posted hours.
What We Do
Our philosophy at the Writing Resource Center is to help writers help
themselves. What that means is that we will not just proofread a
paper. Our job is instead
to help students become better writers. We try to offer help with the
following:
1. Developing invention techniques
2. Creating a good thesis
3. Improving organizational skills
4. Improving audience awareness
5. Improving unity and coherence
6. Improving proofreading skills
7. Improving grammar skills
8. Developing sentence clarity
9. Developing methods of revision
10. Improving research and documentation skills
Setting Up An Appointment
Call 537-6858 to set up an appointment or stop by Clark Hall
201 during posted hours. It is better to set up an appointment because
walk-in sessions are available only if no other students have
scheduled appointments.`

Preparing for a Tutoring Session
You should come to a tutoring session with a copy of your essay and/or
a copy of the assignment you have been given. Think about questions you want
to ask the writing consultant before you get to your appointment.
If you are a student, make sure to bring a copy of the assignment and
any drafts or notes you have developed for the assignment.
